The Heli Trainer was successfully showcased at the ILA 2010. At the International Aerospace Exhibition (ILA) in Berlin, the Heli Trainer was one of the highlights and aroused great interest among the visitors.
The experts and trade visitors agreed, “The Heli Trainer will set new standards for pilot training. This development is unique and unparalleled on the market.”
The interest in the Heli Trainer, a joint development with the robot technology leader KUKA Roboter GmbH and the “Human Perception, Cognition and Action" department of the Max-Planck Institute for Biological Cybernetics, allows the Heli Aviation team to look optimistically to the future. Even before the ILA International Aerospace Exhibition, it was becoming clear that the demand for professional pilots would drastically increase in the next few years and this finding was confirmed and reinforced during the ILA.
Here, Heli Aviation GmbH and its partners see the need for the Heli Trainer, since during helicopter training the first few flight hours are particularly intensive and dangerous. The Heli Trainer makes it possible for pilots to train effectively and safely while, at the same time, being cost effective and environmentally friendly. The quality of the training is retained. When using the Heli Trainer, a prospective pilot therefore needs less time to develop a feeling for the helicopter movements, better understands the consequences of his flight control actions and learns manoeuvres in a safe environment with a steeper learning curve. The ability to reproduce movements of complex real systems in a tight space, so that pilot thinks he is in a real aircraft, makes the Heli Trainer unique.
Interesting new contacts for operational business and with public institutions and industry round off the positive image of the ILA 2010. The relevance and market demand for a safe, realistic and cost-effective trainer for prospective pilots were confirmed in every aspect.
